🍫 Chocolate Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
  3. Press about ⅔ of the mixture firmly into the pan. Bake for 10–12 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolate chips with the cream until smooth.
  5. Spread the chocolate over the partially baked oat base, then drizzle with caramel sauce.
  6. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top.
  7. Bake another 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares. For cleaner slices, refrigerate for about 1 hour.

Tip: A sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts on top makes these even better! 🤎
