Made Cowboy Butter Chicken Bowtie in Creamy Mozzarella Parmesan Sauce for dinner tonight, and it turned out really good. This is an easy comfort food recipe that’s perfect for a family dinner.
Ingredients:
16 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
1½ tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
1½ lbs chicken breast, cut into thick bite-size strips
1½ teaspoons smoked paprika
¾ teaspoon chili flakes
¾ teaspoon garlic powder
¾ teaspoon onion powder
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon black pepper
6 cloves garlic, minced
1½ cups heavy cream
5 oz cream cheese, softened
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
¾ teaspoon Italian seasoning
⅔ cup reserved pasta water
Extra Parmesan for garnish
Directions:
- Cook the bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ⅔ cup of the pasta water before draining.
- Season the chicken with smoked paprika, chili flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on the outside and fully cooked. Add the butter and let it melt, then stir in the garlic and cook for about a minute. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour the heavy cream into the same skillet. Stir in the cream cheese until fully blended.
- Gradually add the mozzarella, Parmesan, and cheddar cheese, stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and rich.
- Mix in the Italian seasoning. If the sauce is too thick, stir in a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Add the cooked bowtie pasta and gently fold it into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve the pasta with the garlic butter chicken on top, spoon over any extra sauce, and finish with an extra sprinkle of Parmesan.
