🍖 Sticky Brown Sugar BBQ Sausage Bites
Ingredients
- 2 lb (900 g) smoked sausage or kielbasa
- 1½ cups BBQ sauce
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the sausage into ½–1 inch rounds.
- Line a baking sheet or 9Ă—13-inch dish with foil and lightly grease it.
- Add the sausage and mix with the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Dijon, garlic powder, Worcestershire and pepper.
- Spread into a single layer.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the sauce is bubbling and the sausage edges are deeply caramelized.
- For extra-dark, sticky edges, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—watch carefully so the sugar doesn’t burn.
- Rest for 5 minutes and serve warm with toothpicks.
Tip: For the glossy, almost candied appearance in your photo, don’t add too much liquid; let the BBQ sauce and brown sugar reduce until thick and sticky.
