Skillet Cornbread

Skillet Cornbread. Perfect cornbread made with delicate, golden skillet cornbread, with perfect crumb, easy to make, perfect side dish or breakfast.

Ingredients

  • Cornmeal → 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour → 1 cup
  • Sugar → 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder → 1 tbsp
  • Salt → 1/2 tsp
  • Milk → 1 cup
  • Large eggs → 2
  • Melted butter → 1/3 cup (additional amount will be added to the skillet)
  • Vegetable oil → 1 tbsp

Skillet Cornbread: Instructions

  1. Activate the oven, and preheat it to 400 deg F (200 deg C) and put a cast iron skillet into the oven to preheat.
  2. Cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt are mixed in a bowl.
  3. In the second bowl, oil, butter and eggs are mixed with milk.
  4. Add the wet ingredients then stir up the mixture.
  5. Wipe hot skillet dry, insert a small amount of butter in it and swirl.
  6. Add into the hot skillet and smooth out the batter.
  7. Bake until brown and clean tooth pick in the cake- 20-25mins.
  8. Allow to cool a bit, cut and eat.
