Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 box white cake mix
- Ingredients required for cake mix (usually eggs, oil, water)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- Green food coloring
- Red and white sprinkles for decoration
- Wax paper
Directions:
- Prepare and bake the white cake mix according to the package instructions. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into a large mixing bowl.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly until the mixture holds together and is moldable.
- Shape the mixture into small cone shapes resembling Christmas trees and place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the shaped cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth.
- Stir green food coloring into the melted white chocolate to achieve a festive green color.
- Dip each chilled cake ball into the colored white chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, then place back on the wax paper.
- Immediately decorate with red and white sprinkles to mimic ornaments and snow.
- Allow the chocolate coating to set completely before serving. You can speed this up by placing the cake balls back in the refrigerator.
