🐟 Classic Salmon Patties
Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside—these old-fashioned salmon patties make an easy, delicious meal! ❤️
🛒 Ingredients
- 2 cans (14.75 oz each) canned salmon, drained and flaked
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil, for frying
👩🍳 Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the salmon, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Shape the patties: Mix gently until combined. Form into 8–10 evenly sized patties. If the mixture feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
- Heat the oil: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry: Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain: Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. 🍋
❤️ Tips
- Chill the patties for 15–20 minutes before frying to help them hold their shape.
- For extra crispy patties, use crushed saltine crackers instead of breadcrumbs.
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet—cook in batches if needed.
