🍗 Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole
Ingredients
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz deli ham, sliced
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cups cooked rice or pasta (optional)
- 1 cup heavy cream or whole milk
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Slice the chicken breasts into thin cutlets. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread the cooked rice or pasta over the bottom of the dish, if using.
- Arrange the chicken in an even layer. Top with the sliced ham, then place the Swiss cheese over the ham.
- Whisk together the heavy cream, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, and Parmesan until smooth. Pour evenly over the casserole.
- Mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until golden and the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes, then serve warm. 🧀🍗
Tip: For an extra cheesy, golden topping, add a little shredded Swiss or mozzarella during the last 5 minutes of baking.
