Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

🍗 Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Ingredients

  • 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz deli ham, sliced
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rice or pasta (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts into thin cutlets. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Spread the cooked rice or pasta over the bottom of the dish, if using.
  4. Arrange the chicken in an even layer. Top with the sliced ham, then place the Swiss cheese over the ham.
  5. Whisk together the heavy cream, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, and Parmesan until smooth. Pour evenly over the casserole.
  6. Mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
  7. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until golden and the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
  8. Let rest for 5–10 minutes, then serve warm. 🧀🍗

Tip: For an extra cheesy, golden topping, add a little shredded Swiss or mozzarella during the last 5 minutes of baking.
