Sweet, warm, and comforting—Apple Pie Bubble Up is the perfect treat for any occasion!
Ingredients
2 cans (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
6 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 4 medium apples)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
1-2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the Biscuits:
Open the cans of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Set aside.
Prepare the Apples:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss the apples well to coat them in the sugar and spices.
Layer the Ingredients:
Layer the bottom of the prepared baking dish with the quartered biscuits. Evenly spread the spiced apple mixture over the biscuits.
Make the Butter Syrup:
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture evenly over the apples and biscuits in the dish.
Bake:
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender. The biscuits should be fully cooked and bubbly.
Prepare the Glaze:
While the dessert is baking, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make a smooth glaze. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.
Glaze the Dish:
Once the Apple Pie Bubble Up is out of the oven, allow it to cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm dish for a sweet finishing touch.
