Sticky Brown Sugar BBQ Sausage Bites

🍖 Sticky Brown Sugar BBQ Sausage Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 lb (900 g) smoked sausage or kielbasa
  • 1½ cups BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the sausage into ½–1 inch rounds.
  3. Line a baking sheet or 9Ă—13-inch dish with foil and lightly grease it.
  4. Add the sausage and mix with the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Dijon, garlic powder, Worcestershire and pepper.
  5. Spread into a single layer.
  6. Bake 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the sauce is bubbling and the sausage edges are deeply caramelized.
  7. For extra-dark, sticky edges, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—watch carefully so the sugar doesn’t burn.
  8. Rest for 5 minutes and serve warm with toothpicks.

Tip: For the glossy, almost candied appearance in your photo, don’t add too much liquid; let the BBQ sauce and brown sugar reduce until thick and sticky.
