Classic Salmon Patties

🐟 Classic Salmon Patties

Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside—these old-fashioned salmon patties make an easy, delicious meal! ❤️

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.75 oz each) canned salmon, drained and flaked
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil, for frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the salmon, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  2. Shape the patties: Mix gently until combined. Form into 8–10 evenly sized patties. If the mixture feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat the oil: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Fry: Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain: Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve: Enjoy warm with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. 🍋

❤️ Tips

  • Chill the patties for 15–20 minutes before frying to help them hold their shape.
  • For extra crispy patties, use crushed saltine crackers instead of breadcrumbs.
  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet—cook in batches if needed.
