🥩 Ground Beef & Gravy over Mashed Potatoes 😍
Ingredients:
For the Ground Beef & Gravy:
1½ lbs ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
Salt, to taste
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
For the Mashed Potatoes:
2 lbs russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tbsp unsalted butter
½ cup warm whole milk
¼ cup heavy cream
½ tsp black pepper
Salt, to taste
Method:
Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking up the beef, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add the garlic and butter. Cook for 1 minute, then sprinkle the flour over the beef. Stir well and cook for another minute.
Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly. Add the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens and becomes rich and smooth.
Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the hot pot. Mash until smooth, then mix in the butter, warm milk, and heavy cream. Season with salt and black pepper.
Spoon a generous portion of creamy mashed potatoes onto each plate and top with the ground beef and rich gravy.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with green beans, corn, or your favorite vegetable. 🥔🥩🍲✨
